In line with its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UNAI member institution Kayseri University in Türkiye celebrated World Car-Free Day on 22 September with a campus-wide event promoting sustainable transportation, reducing carbon emissions, and raising awareness about climate action. The event was also registered under Mobility Actions as part of the European Mobility Week initiative.

Organized at the university, the event encouraged students, as well as academic and administrative staff, to arrive by walking, cycling, or using public transportation instead of driving. Rector Prof. Dr. Karamustafa highlighted the university’s ongoing efforts in green campus initiatives, including projects on energy efficiency, green space protection, and natural resource conservation.

Participants from across the university community reaffirmed Kayseri University’s dedication to serving as a model institution for environmental responsibility both nationally and internationally. By organizing such activities, the university continues to foster a culture of sustainability and climate awareness, contributing meaningfully to Sustainable Development Goals.

The initiative supports SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by encouraging eco-friendly mobility and integrating sustainable practices into daily life.
