Balochistan University of Engineering, Information Technology & Management Sciences (BUITEMS) in Pakistan serves as the Vice Chair for Teaching and Education for the UNAI SDG 8 Hub on Decent Work and Economic Growth. It plays a crucial role in promoting not only Sustainable Development Goal 8, but also the broader Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), nurturing a new generation of leaders dedicated to advancing national development.
To examine the importance of gender inclusion and equality in achieving decent work and economic development, BUITEMS held a week-long initiative for university administrators, faculty members, and students with in-person and online discussions that featured expert insights and collaborative activities to explore the challenges facing gender equity and inclusion and effective strategies for implementing them in society.

The in-person workshops were conducted by Prof. Sajida Reza (Assistant Professor, Dept. Management Sciences) and Prof. Bilal Sarwar (Director, Quality Enhancement and Accreditation) with Prof. Jawad Syed (Lahore University of Management Sciences) acting as resource focal point. Prof. Imrana Niaz Sultan (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences & Informatics, Focal Point of SDGs) organized and conducted the online webinars.
The week-long initiative highlights BUITEMS' commitment to empowering women to create more equitable societies in which everyone can thrive.
