The Department of Peace Operations, the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, UN Women and the Elsie Initiative Fund, in partnership with New York City’s iconic Photoville festival
invite you to attend the premiere of their free multimedia exhibit: “Through Her Lens: Women Rising for Peace” on Saturday, 7 June at 7:00 p.m. (EST) at Pier 1, Brooklyn Bridge Park, New York.
The exhibition highlights the leadership and resilience of women peacebuilders, peacekeepers, human rights defenders and their allies advancing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda in 11 conflict-affected contexts, captured by local women photographers.
As we mark the 25th anniversary of the WPS agenda this year, the exhibit offers a timely moment to reflect on progress and recommit to its implementation.
Photoville will open its doors at noon, with the official launch beginning at 7:00 p.m. More information on opening weekend activities is available here.
The exhibition will remain on display at Brooklyn Bridge Park until 22 June, and will also be presented at United Nations Headquarters in New York in October-November.
It will also feature on the UN Exhibits website.
