Key points as listed in the UNFF11 Outcome Fact Sheet are the reiteration of the validity and value of the UN Forest Instrument and the Global Objectives of Forests as well as the promotion of the design of national forest financing strategies. The fact sheet also points out the request of the Forum to take a more active approach in the negotiations during the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. They advice all stakeholders to enhance forests’ contribution to the post-2015 sustainable development agenda. The Forum also calls for a periodic review of the forest landmark Resolution.

The Fact Sheet highlights the pledges of the Ministers, who encouraged each other to cooperate on the international and bilateral levels, to address the drivers of deforestation and degradation and points out the request of Ministers to integrate forests into key international conferences including the Third International Conference on Financing for Development, United Nations Summit to adopt the post-2015 development agenda and 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC.

The publication mentions the new roadmap of the Forum. In order to achieve the goals, as laid out the Declaration and Resolution, members of the Forum committed to a new series of meetings. The new calender includes UNFF Ad-Hoc Expert Groups, UNFF Working Group, UNFF Special Session and the 12th session of the UN Forum on Forests.
