Consultation with Civil Society on engagement in the FfD follow-up process

  • Date: 3 - 4 August 2016
  • Location: New York

Public-private interfaces imageOn 3-4 August 2016, the Multi-stakeholder Engagement and Outreach Branch (MEOB) of the Financing for Development Office (FfDO) held consultations with a group of civil society representatives to discuss civil society engagement in the FfD follow-up process. The meeting was attended by 14 civil society delegates nominated by the Addis Ababa CSO Coordinating Group of the CSO FfD Group, which performs the coordinating role for civil society engagement in the FfD process. The meeting provided an opportunity for civil society delegates to: (i) provide feedback on the 2016 inaugural ECOSOC forum on financing for development follow-up and share their reflections on modalities, themes and organizational aspects of past and future fora; (ii) identify thematic issues on which the CSO FfD Group would like to contribute to the FfD follow-up process with the view of knowledge-building and capacity development for the benefit of developing countries.
