Informal Hearings of the Business Sector on Financing for Development

  • Date: 11 October 2007
  • Location: New York

A recurring theme throughout the Monterrey Consensus is the need to foster a dynamic and well-functioning business sector in developing countries. In preparation for the High-level Dialogue of 23-25 October 2007, and the follow-up International Conference on Financing for Development to review the implementation of the Monterrey Consensus to be held in Doha, Qatar, at the end of 2008, the Financing for Development Office held these Informal Hearings with the Business Sector to promote a sincere and free discussion of ideas between representatives of the business sector and representatives of the UN Member States, to further the interaction between them in the benefit of the financing for development process.
