Event Summary:

Hosted by the Niemeyer Center in Aviles, Spain, CCOI introduced film and TV professionals from Spain, Portugal and Latin America to the work of the United Nations. The one-day series of panel discussions, which took place in July 2011, featured UN representatives, Goodwill Ambassadors and distinguished Iberoamerican filmmakers, exploring topics of particular significance to the region, including gender equality and empowerment of women, environmental sustainability, and combating drugs and crime and their effects.

CCOI’s Role:

CCOI participated in the logistical planning of the summit.
