Description
The project addresses the key challenge that many local and national governments lack the capacity to effectively manage existing infrastructure assets and plan for risks affecting future investments, which is crucial since 92% of SDG targets are linked to resilient infrastructure.

To tackle this, the project will train government officials in six countries—The Gambia, Senegal, Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, and Fiji—in resilient infrastructure asset management, and develop community-driven, multi-year action plans to ensure ongoing public services and inclusivity. It will also strengthen the capacity of training institutions and universities to incorporate resilient infrastructure management into curricula. Lessons learned will be captured to update the UN Handbook on Infrastructure Asset Management, supporting sustainable infrastructure for sustainable development.

Building on collaboration with the Local2030 Coalition and the Sevilla Platform for Action, it aims to advance SDGs 9, 11, and 13.
