Report of the Secretary-General on the Work of the Organization
As countries work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the United Nations continue to offer support and ensure that no one is left behind. The 2022 Annual Report of the Secretary-General amplifies the need to climate action, promote gender equality, protect human rights, advance peace and security, coordinate humanitarian assistance, promote justice and international law, among other priorities.
In his report the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. António Guterres demonstrates how “Throughout the year, the United Nations, as a platform for international cooperation and solidarity, convened stakeholders and drove global advocacy and cooperation to reduce poverty, tackle climate change and propel energy and digital transformation, reform food systems, reduce inequality and mobilize resources and action coalitions for the acceleration and expansion of sustainable development investments at scale to get countries back on track. Collectively across the United Nations system, policy options and solutions offered, helped to shape strategies and amplified the voices of those on the front lines and those marginalized.”
The United Nations is committed to maintaining international peace and security; developing friendly relations among nations; promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights.
