United Nations Information Centre – Manama
"The United Nations cannot achieve the goals for which it was created unless the peoples of the world are fully informed of its aims and activities."
— UN General Assembly Resolution 13 (1946)
The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Manama serves the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar. The Centre engages policymakers, media, civil society, students, and the general public to bring the UN closer to the population, raising awareness about the UN’s work and global priorities. UNIC Manama works to ensure the values and goals of the United Nations are heard, understood, and reflected in local conversations and actions.
What do we do?

Media Relations
We engage with national, regional, and international media outlets across the countries we serve by providing background information and press materials, facilitating interviews and press conferences, and contributing to or supporting the publication of op-eds and feature articles.
Partnerships
We initiate campaigns in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to promote key United Nations priorities and issues.
Engaging with the Public
We strive to inspire informed action and meaningful engagement by communicating in local languages. Utilizing social media platforms, websites, tailored content, and translations, UNIC Manama ensures broad and inclusive access to critical global issues.
