Mr. Syed Mohamad Hasrin Aidid is a career diplomat and joined the Malaysian Administrative Diplomatic Service in June 1994.

He had served overseas as Second Secretary and Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations, Consul General of Malaysia in Dubai and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta.

At the Ministry, he had served in the Multilateral Affairs Department, Policy Planning Division and South East Asia Division. He had also served as the Special Officer to the Secretary General and Special Officer to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He holds a Master Degree in Public Management from the Lee Kuan Yew School, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Political Science from the University of Arizona, USA.

On 7 July 2017, he presented his Letter of Credence as the Ambassador of Malaysia to the United Arab Emirates.

He is married to Sarah Nava Rani AlBakri Devadason and is blessed with five sons.

In 2019 Ambassador Syed Mohamad Hasrin Aidid chaired the third session of the Preparatory Committee or the 2020 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference.

Adam Bugajski is Security Policy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. He has the overall responsibility for the Polish security policy, including Poland’s disarmament and non-proliferation policy.

Prior to the current assignment, Adam Bugajski was the Permanent Representative of Poland to the UN Office and the International Organisations in Vienna (2015-2019). In that position, he assured Polish direct participation in a number of international organisations in Vienna, including: the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation, and others. His previous posts also included Security Policy Director and Deputy Director of the Department of Strategy and Foreign Policy Planning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland as well as Deputy Permanent Representative of Poland to NATO.

During the 2015 NPT Review Conference in New York, Mr. Bugajski served as Vice-President of the Conference. In 2018 Ambassador Adam Bugajski chaired the second session of the Preparatory Committee of the 2020 Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference.

Adam Bugajski was born in 1974, in Gdańsk, Poland. He holds MA from Gdańsk University. He also graduated from the National School of Public Administration in Warsaw. Ambassador Bugajski is married and has three children.

H.E. Ambassador Marjolijn Van Deelen

H.E. Ambassador Marjolijn Van Deelen

 

Amb. Marjolijn van Deelen heads the Non-proliferation, Disarmament and Nuclear Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands since 2015. Her responsibilities include all WMD-related Dutch foreign policy. In February 2019, she was appointed Dutch Ambassador for the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

She previously served as head of the Europe Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for bilateral relations with over 20 countries. She was Deputy Permanent Representative to the Mission of the Netherlands to the UN Organizations in Vienna from 2009 to 2013 where her focus was on IAEA non-proliferation and peaceful uses of nuclear energy as well as the CTBT.

Amb. van Deelen was posted at the Netherlands Embassy in Bucharest as Head of Economic and Trade Affairs. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, she held functions in the Middle East department, the UN department and in Environmental issues. She also served in Costa Rica with accreditation to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. She entered the Dutch Foreign Service in 1994. Ms. Van Deelen holds a Masters in Geophysics from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, as well as a BA in Economics from the American University in Washington DC. She speaks Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish. She is married and has two children.
