The Expert Group Meeting is intended to provide a forum for the substantive exploration of key aspects of international migration and development, with the aim of seeking concrete ways to realize the benefits that international migration can have for development. |

The Population Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), in collaboration with the Consejo Nacional de Población (CONAPO) of Mexico and with the support of the National Institute of Aging (NIA) of the United States, organized an expert group meeting on the social and economic implications of changing population age structures. The meeting took place in Mexico City from 31 August to 2 September 2005. |
The Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations is organizing the Fourth Coordination Meeting on International Migration in response to General Assembly Resolution 58/208 of 13 February 2004 on International Migration and Development, which requests the Secretary-General to continue convening meetings to coordinate activities regarding international migration.
