This report presents new estimates of adolescent fertility at ages 15-19, broken down further into age groups 15-17 and 18-19. The period under review, from 1990 to 2020, included the adoption in 1994 and more than 25 years of implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development; it also encompassed the entire era of reference for the Millennium Development Goals, from 1990 to 2015, as well as the first five years of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its new set of global Goals.
