MOVE - Stories of resilience and collaboration across Eastern Africa’s rangelands

MOVE - Stories of resilience and collaboration across Eastern Africa’s rangelands. In the crossborder rangelands of Eastern Africa, movement is a way of life and a survival strategy deeply rooted in transhumance and the seasonal migration of livestock in search of pasture and water. It supports livelihoods, cultures, and ecosystems that have survived for generations. The name MOVE. is intended to illustrate the spirit and rhythm of pastoral life. In the Pastoralism and Livestock Adaptation to Climate Change in Eastern Africa (PLACE) programme, MOVE. represents the journey from dependency toward resilience, self-reliance, and thriving pastoral economies. It illustrates how communities, with the proper support and partnerships, can adapt to changing climates, rebuild natural resources, and strengthen peaceful coexistence across borders.
