As of January 2025, the Climate Security Mechanism (CSM) Joint Programme has been supported by generous contributions from the Governments of Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom through the United Nations Multi-Partner Trust Fund. In addition, the Governments of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and Norway have provided in-kind support through Junior Professional Officers.
The CSM Joint Steering Committee is comprised of representatives from funding partners of the CSM Joint Programme, the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office (MPTFO) as administrative agent of the Joint Programme, and the CSM entities (DPPA, UNDP, UNEP and DPO). The Joint Steering Committee provides overall guidance, oversight, and leadership to the CSM Joint Programme, and also reviews the status of implementation and coordination.
