The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana and Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The Secretary-General thanked Ghana for its leadership in the fight against Ebola virus disease in West Africa and for hosting the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER). They also discussed upcoming elections in the ECOWAS region in 2015.
