The Security Council decided, in paragraph 8 of resolution 2371 (2017) ,adopted on 5 August 2017, that the DPRK shall not supply, sell or transfer, directly or indirectly, from its territory or by its nationals or using its flag vessels or aircraft, coal, and that all States shall prohibit the procurement of such material from the DPRK by their nationals, or using their flag vessels or aircraft, and whether or not originating in the territory of the DPRK, replacing paragraph 26 of resolution 2321 (2016).
In this regard, Member States have until 30 August 2017 to notify the Committee of the aggregate amount of the volume of procured coal from the DPRK in July 2017 and until 30 September 2017 to notify the 1718 Committee of the aggregate amount of the volume of procured coal from the DPRK between 1 and 4 August 2017, as required by paragraph 26 of resolution 2321 (2016).

Pursuant to paragraph 26 (b) of resolution 2321 (2016), total exports to all Member States of coal originating from the DPRK shall not exceed the aggregate of 400,870,018 US dollars or 7,500,000 metric tons, whichever is lower, between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2017.
