Youth Engagement

Youth engagement is at the heart of the Transforming Education Summit, as the voices of young people are essential to forging a path to transforming education.

The Pre-Summit, which convened at UNESCO in Paris on 28-30 June 2022, was kicked off by a Youth Forum that created space for inter-generational dialogue between youth and key decision-makers, ensuring that young people's aspirations for the future of education are brought to the forefront. Young people all over the world are encouraged to continue engaging in the Summit process and build a movement on Transforming Education.

Youth Mobilization Day - 16 September

A youth-led and youth-organized Mobilization Day will kickstart the Summit proceedings on Friday, 16 September 2022. On this day young people will share their commitments and views on transforming education with decision-makers through meaningful intergenerational dialogues including with education champions and education authorities.

The transformation of education will not happen without the active engagement from the young people of the world, such as students, activists, teachers, and more.

Here are a few ways to make your voice heard.

Contribute to the Youth Declaration

The Youth Declaration is a collective process facilitated by the Office of the Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth together with the Summit Secretariat and a number of partners to gather young people’s inputs on what transforming education should look like, outline a set of recommendations to policymakers, and highlight young people’s collective commitments and actions. The Youth Declaration will be presented to the Secretary-General at the Transforming Education Summit. Young people all over the world are encouraged to shape and influence this crucial document.
