4. Draft reports of human rights treaty bodies (Content Code B08)

Draft reports of treaty bodies are issued as limited or restricted documents (L. or CRP. in document symbol), usually with chapters contained in separate addenda. The titles of treaty body draft reports do not always clearly indicate that the document is a draft version, so indexers should take care to assign the correct Content Code for draft reports (B08) and not the code for final reports (B04).

Assign a contents note (tag 505) enumerating the chapter(s) contained in each addendum to the draft report, in accordance with the UNBIS Reference Manual for tag 505. 

Assign the appropriate sessional corporate name heading in tag 710 to the main document and to each addendum.

From February 2009, subject terms (tag 6XX) are only assigned to the main document of the draft report, not to the addenda. Assign only primary subject terms (tag 650 first indicator 1) to the main document of the draft report, the appropriate sessional corporate subject heading (tag 610) and the title subject for the treaty (tag 630).
