3. Annual or sessional reports of human rights treaty bodies (Content Code B04)

Refer to the Guidelines for Specific Types of UN Documents and Publications : Annual or sessional reports of bodies for guidance on analysis of sessional reports.

Final reports on sessions of the treaty bodies are published annually as Official Records of the General Assembly (GAOR in tag 495) with two exceptions:

- sessional reports of the Committee on the Rights of the Child are issued as documents of the Committee (CRC/C/), while a report to the General Assembly is published biennially as GAOR; the biennial report covers a two-year period, or 6 sessions of CRC.

- sessional reports of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights are published annually as Official Records of the Economic and Social Council (ESCOR in tag 495).

Assign the corporate name headings for all sessions of the Committee covered in a report in repeats of tag 710 and also in repeats of tag 610, in addition to other corporate subject headings for the Committee with modifying terms as appropriate.

If decisions adopted by treaty bodies are present in sessional reports, assign an added corporate subject heading for the treaty body with its sessional modifier (tag 610) with the modifying term Resolutions and decisions in subfield $g. If the decisions are numbered and have not been issued as individual documents, they should be indexed as monograph analytic records.

If recommendations or concluding observations are present in sessional reports, assign an added corporate subject heading for the treaty body with its sessional modifier (tag 610) with the modifying term Recommendations in subfield $g. Assign the Content Code B24 if concluding observations are present.

If adopted jurisprudence on communications (decisions, views and opinions on individual cases) is present in sessional reports, assign the Content Code B25.

If adopted numbered General Comments are present in sessional reports, assign the Content Code B26 (note that CERD and CEDAW refer to their General Comments as "general recommendations").
