Mark Gibney is Belk Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina-Asheville. His books include Five Uneasy Pieces: American Ethics in a Globalized World (Rowman and Littlefield, 2005) and an edited collection, The Age of Apology: The West Faces its Past (University of Pennsylvania Press).
