NC Gutiérrez is a reporter for El Nuevo Diario, a Nicaraguan daily. Her special reports, in-depth interviews and features cover human rights, women's rights, education and foreign relations. In 2017, her reporting on sexual harassment in public and private universities in Nicaragua won her the Words, Voices and Images for a Life Free of Violence award from the European Union. At the United Nations, she is interested in covering the response of the Organization's human rights mechanisms and foreign diplomats to the current political crisis in Nicaragua.
