The Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe, Ms Tatiana Molcean, and the Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa, Mr. Claver Gatete, took the United Nations Oath of Office and were sworn in today, 8 November 2023, by the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. António Guterres at a Swearing-in Ceremony held at United Nations Headquarters.
Ms. Molcean assumed Office on 1 September 2023 as the fifteenth Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Gatete took office on 1 November 2023 as the tenth Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with five sub-regional offices spread across the continent.
