Visit to the France Pavilion / Welcoming Commissioner General of the 2025 World Exposition in Japan

Today's highlights included a visit to the France Pavilion, where we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Jacques Maire, Commissioner General of the Pavilion and greatly enjoyed the creative and awe-inspiring exhibits that embodied its theme - “A Hymn to Love." We were equally happy to have welcomed Mr. Koji Haneda, Commissioner General of the 2025 World Exposition in Japan, to our Pavilion.

On 17 July 2025, the International Labour Organization (ILO) will host the ILO Youth Congress at EXPO Osaka, Japan. The event is taking place as part of the EXPO 2025 Days on Safety, Health & Well-being for All held under the inaugural Global Initiative for Safety, Health and Well-being (GISHW).

This landmark event focuses on empowering young people to actively participate in the design of safe, healthy and inclusive workplaces in the digital age. Rooted in the ILO’s 2022 resolution recognizing a safe and healthy working environment as a Fundamental Principle and Right at Work, this event addresses the urgent need to raise awareness and to call for action among young people—who often face greater OSH risks—about their rights and the importance of business and human rights in ensuring decent work.

A special photo exhibition titled “One Day, I Will” by French photographer Vincent Tremeau will be held from 2-10 July. Organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and sponsored by KUMON, this exhibition highlights children around the world who face humanitarian crises and captures their dreams through powerful photography. As part of the Japan exhibition, children from Ishikawa Prefecture — affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake and heavy rains — also take part in the project.
