SDG financing, tax cooperation and transparency: a balancing act for developing countries

Event Details

Organized by:

Permanent Mission of Panama to the United Nations

Summary:

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has set the objectives to achieve sustainable development, eradicate poverty and foster shared prosperity. To succeed, the Agenda will require a comprehensive, holistic and transformative approach with respect to the means of implementation. Many countries, particularly developing countries, still face considerable challenges in ensuring the availability to resources and their effective use for sustainable development.

This side event aims to facilitate the discussion among the participants  to reflect on actions to overcome the challenges of the developing countries in the resources mobilization, exchange experiences and lessons on how Governments and others actors can mobilize resources for the implementation of the SDG’s, and to share ideas on how to support and maximize the international cooperation at the service of sustainable development.
