The preparation of Six Big Questions for the Global Economic Recovery: The UN High-level Advisory Board Q&A Compendium was made possible by the contributions of the members of the United Nations High-level Advisory Board (HLAB) on Economic and Social Affairs, and Elliott Harris, the former Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development and Chief Economist (former ex-officio member of the HLAB), bringing together diverse perspectives and disciplinary backgrounds on current and emerging socioeconomic issues.

Under the overall guidance of Liu Zhenmin, Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, the editorial team of the Strategic Planning and Communication Services (SPCS) of the Office of the Under-Secretary-General (OUSG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), led and coordinated the consolidation of contributions from the HLAB members and DESA colleagues and the editing of the compendium.

The editorial team would like to acknowledge the contributions of the special guests of the HLAB meetings held in 2021 who provided additional perspectives and recommendations presented in the compendium: Susan Athey, Economics of Technology Professor at Stanford University; Nancy Birdsall, President emeritus of the Center for Global Development; Selwin Hart, Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Climate Action; Mahmoud Mohieldin, Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; Anthony Painter, Chief Research & Impact Officer of the Royal Society of Arts; and Volker Türk, Under-Secretary-General for Policy.

We would also like to acknowledge the contributions of members of the HLAB Task Force: Astra Bonini, Hoi Wai Jackie Cheng, Bela Hovy, Maren Andrea Jimenez, Stephanie Rambler, Hamid Rashid, Richard Roehrl, Marta Roig, Oliver Schwank and Deniz Susar from UN DESA.

The compendium was edited by Jenny Nasser, with graphic design by Vladimir Golosiy.

The HLAB and the production of this publication are supported by the United Nations Peace and Development Trust Fund.
