The project includes thematic briefings by the Compact Secretariat on priorities and the 2026 the Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy (GCTS) review; launching the Global Counter-Terrorism Compact Dashboard to improve coordination and tracking; and annual retreats with stakeholders to promote collaboration, focusing on Sub Saharan Africa and Central Asia.

Synopsis

Objectives

The project aims to promote synergies and a unified approach to policy coordination within the United Nations Counterterrorism Compact by strengthening joint efforts and enhancing preparedness for the 2026 review of the GCTS.

Components

The project main components include the delivery of thematic briefings by the Compact Secretariat to inform Compact entities on cross-cutting priorities and preparations for the 2026 Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy (GCTS) 9th review; the design, operationalization, and launch of the Global Counterterrorism Compact Dashboard to enhance coordination and impact tracking across the United Nations System; and the convening of annual retreats for Compact leadership, Member States, regional organizations, and other stakeholders to advance collaborative approaches and inform global processes, including the GCTS review in priority regions, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and Central Asia.
