UN conducts staff officers ‘training of trainers’ course (2018)
The Integrated Training Service of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Field Support conducted the United Nations Staff Officer Training of Trainers
Course from 14 to 25 May 2018 at the United Nations Regional Service Centre Entebbe (RSCE) in Uganda.
Seventeen representatives - including four women - from eleven countries and four field missions participated in the course. The objective of the two-week course was to familiarize the participants on the revised UN Staff Officers Specialized Training Materials (STM) to enhance their capacities to deliver the new materials in their respective countries and field missions. The course culminated with an integrated command post exercise that allowed participants to practice the knowledge and skills acquired.According to the anonymous evaluation survey conducted at the end of the training, participants were pleased with the training outcomes. One comment read, “An excellent opportunity to get a whole sum, detailed and comprehensive learning of work pattern of UN staff”.
Capacity-building through “training of trainers” courses for Member States, is a core activity of the Integrated Training Service.
The Staff Officers Training of Trainers Course is supported by the United Nations Peace and Development Trust Fund.
