The United Nations is currently accepting applications for its upcoming competitive examination for Spanish translators, editors, and verbatim reporters.

The examination aims to establish a roster to fill present and future vacancies for Spanish translators, editors, and verbatim reporters (P-2/P-3) at United Nations Headquarters in New York, the United Nations Offices at Geneva, Nairobi and Vienna, as well as at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago.

Apply for the examination

The examination will be conducted online. It is open to qualified candidates with a perfect command of Spanish, which should be their main language, as well as an excellent knowledge of English.

Excellent knowledge of at least one other official language of the United Nations is desirable and will be an advantage. Applications from candidates with excellent knowledge of Arabic or Russian are strongly encouraged.

Qualified external and internal candidates are welcome to apply by Saturday, 10 May 2025.

Information sessions

Information sessions will be offered on 29 April, 30 April, and 5 May to explain the application process and provide tips for preparing for the examination.
