The United Nations is now accepting applications for the upcoming competitive examination for Russian Translators and Verbatim Reporters.
The examination establishes a roster to fill present and future vacancies for Russian Translators and Verbatim Reporters (P-2 and P-3) in conference services at UN Headquarters in New York, as well as at the UN Offices in Geneva, Nairobi, and Vienna, and the regional commission in Bangkok.
Candidates must:

have a perfect command of Russian, which should be their main language. They must also possess an excellent knowledge of English as well as one of the other official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, French, or Spanish).

hold at least a first-level degree or an equivalent qualification in modern languages, translation, interpretation, or another relevant subject, such as law, economics, accounting, international relations, science, or technology, from a university or institution of equivalent status, preferably one at which Russian is the principal language of instruction.
As the examination will be conducted remotely, candidates will need a computer and a high-speed internet connection.
Open through 16 August 2023, applications from external and internal candidates, including staff members from the General Service and related categories, are welcome.
