The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Idris Déby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad

The Secretary-General congratulated the President on the signing of an agreement on investigations in Chad related to the trial of ex-President Hissène Habré.

They discussed internal developments in Chad as well as the situation in the broader region, including in the Central African Republic (CAR), Mali and the Sahel, Libya and Sudan and South Sudan.

They also exchanged views on the threat posed by Boko Haram, as well as on regional efforts related to fight piracy in the Gulf of Guinea.

Le Secrétaire général a rencontré aujourd’hui S.E. M. Idris Déby Itno, Président de la République du Tchad.

Le Secrétaire général a félicité le Président sur la signature d’un accord sur les enquêtes au Tchad relatives au procès de l’ancien Président Issène Habré.

Ils ont discuté des développements internes au Tchad, ainsi que de la situation dans la région, notamment en République centrafricaine, au Mali et dans le Sahel, en Libye et au Soudan et Soudan du Sud.

Ils ont également échangé sur la menace posée par le Boko Haram, ainsi que sur les efforts régionaux dans la lutte contre la piraterie dans le Golfe de Guinée.
