The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Moncef Marzouki, President of Tunisia.

They discussed developments regarding the constitution-making process in Tunisia. The Secretary-General expressed his encouragement for the national dialogue process in the country and emphasised the need for the constitution to guarantee the inviolability of human rights. The Secretary-General reiterated the support of the United Nations to the people of Tunisia as it moves through the constitutional process into the elections.

The Secretary-General and the President also discussed the situation in Mali and the Sahel, Libya and Syria, as well as development and education.

Le Secrétaire général a rencontré aujourd’hui S.E. M. Moncef Marzouki, Président de la Tunisie.

Ils ont discuté des développements relatifs au processus constitutionnel en Tunisie. Le Secrétaire général a exprimé ses encouragements pour le processus de dialogue national dans le pays et a insisté sur la nécessité que la constitution garantisse l’inviolabilité des droits de l’homme. Le Secrétaire général a réitéré le soutien des Nations Unies au peuple de la Tunisie alors qu’il s’apprête à aller aux élections par le biais du processus constitutionnel.

Le Secrétaire général et le Président ont également discuté la situation au Mali et dans le Sahel, en Libye et en Syrie, ainsi que le développement  et l’éducation.
