The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Charles Michel, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium. The Secretary-General welcomed the participation of Belgium in UN peacekeeping operations, in particular in Mali. The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister agreed on the need for continued support to the partnership for peacekeeping in Africa. They exchanged views on developments in the Great Lakes region, including in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The two interlocutors agreed on the need to reinforce international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

Le Secrétaire général a rencontré S.E. M. Charles Michel, Premier Ministre du Royaume de Belgique. Le Secrétaire général a salué la participation de la Belgique aux opérations de maintien de la paix des Nations Unies, en particulier au Mali.  Le Secrétaire général et le Premier Ministre se sont mis d’accord sur la nécessité de renforcer le partenariat dans ce domaine notamment en Afrique. 

Les deux dirigeants se sont entendus sur la nécessité de renforcer la coopération internationale pour combattre le terrorisme et l’extrémisme violent.
