The Secretary-General met today with His Excellency Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Secretary-General thanked Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid for the Kingdom’s support to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. They also discussed the global climate change agenda, including preparations for 21st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held in Paris in December 2015. 

The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister also reviewed political developments in Bahrain, including the efforts aimed at promoting stability in the country and promoting dialogue amongst all Bahraini constituencies.  

They also discussed regional and international peace and security issues, including counter-terrorism efforts.
