The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, Minister of the Environment of Peru, who is also President of the 20th session of the Conference of Parties (COP 20) and 10th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP10).

The Secretary-General thanked Mr. Pulgar-Vidal for Peru’s hosting of the UN Climate Change Conference and for his skilled leadership of the negotiations towards a universal, meaningful agreement.

He told the Minister that as we head towards the next Conference of Parties in Paris in 2015, the United Nations continues to count on Peru’s strong leadership in combating climate change.
