The Secretary-General met with H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, on the margins of the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi on 18 January. They discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including the Middle East peace process, Lebanon, Iraq and Afghanistan. The Secretary-General expressed his gratitude to the Crown Prince for his Government's support to the UN and for hosting a number of UN programmes and offices and facilitating their activities.
