NGO Participation Information

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which were eligible to designate representatives to attend the session. Close to 600 NGO organizations sent participants to the session and the number of individual NGO participants was more than 2700 (List of Organizations).

HOURS FOR NGO REGISTRATION & GROUND PASSES FOR NGO PARTICIPANTS

NGO representatives may pick up their UN ground passes at the United Nations Visitor’s Lobby (First Avenue and 46th Street).

All NGOs should enter via the Visitor’s Entrance in the General Assembly Building, at all times, and will be required to pass through the magnetometers. On the first day of the commission session, there will be a separate magnetometer set up exclusively for NGO representatives attending the forty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women.

The registration desk will be located under the Foucault’s Pendulum in the General Assembly Visitor’s Lobby.

The DAW Registration Desk will be open on
• 25 February (Friday), 9:30am - 8:00pm;
• 27 February (Sunday), 10:00am - 10:00pm;
• 28 February (Monday), 7:00am - 4:30pm;
• 1 March (Tuesday) to 3 March (Thursday), 9:00am – 4:30pm;
• 4 March (Friday), 9:00am – 12:30pm;
• 7 March (Monday) to 10 March (Thursday), 9:00am – 4:30pm;
• 11 March (Friday), 9:00am-12:30pm.

NOTE: The registration desk will be closed everyday 12:30pm – 2:00pm.

Confirmation letters

NGOs and organizations that have registered to attend the forty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW49): it is now possible to print out your “Confirmation Letter” on-line.

To obtain your "Confirmation Letter" for attendance to CSW49, login to http://www.un.org/womenwatch/daw/csw/csw49/register.

Please remember you will need your organization "ID" and associated password to login (the same as the ones you had used for registration). While retrieving your confirmation letters, please also re-check your list of selected representatives to ensure it is complete and accurate.

Once logged in, scroll to the list of your organization’s representatives. Next to each representative listed you will see a "retrieve" button. Please click this button for each of your attending representatives. Finally print out the "Confirmation Letter". If you have problems retrieving the letters online, please send e-mail to csw49@un.org for assistance containing your organization’s ID.

The Division for the Advancement of Women (DAW) will not be held liable for any confirmation letters other than those officially posted on the website.
