Reviving the Spirit of San Francisco

As we observe the 80th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter, this exhibit recalls the enduring relevance of this historic document, while inviting visitors to again embrace the ideals that united humanity during the creation of the United Nations.

The exhibit is organized and endorsed by the Office of the President of the General Assembly. It is in connection with the 80th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter (26 June).

Through Her Lens: Women Rising for Peace

Through the lens of local women photographers, this exhibition captures the resilience, leadership, and courage of women and allies driving peace in 12 conflict-affected communities. Featuring peacebuilders, peacekeepers, and women’s rights defenders, each image is a testament to what is possible when the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda is supported/implemented. It is in connection with the Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace, and Security.

The exhibit is organized and endorsed by the Department of Peace Operations, the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, UN Women and the Elsie Initiative Fund.

Virtual exhibit "Through Her Lens: Women Rising for Peace"

Shared Lives, Shared Future

This exhibition, marking the United Nations’ 80th Anniversary, showcases stories from around the world, highlighting the many ways in which the world’s most crucial international organization impacts all our daily lives, including by supporting peace and security, overseeing regulatory frameworks, providing humanitarian assistance and supporting development, facilitating international conventions on trade, or promoting human rights.

The exhibit is organized by the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC), led by its 59 UN Information Centres (UNICs), together with the Permanent Missions of Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland.

UN Headquarters: A Workshop for Peace

The exhibition features archival images of the planning and building of UNHQ between 1949 and 1952 and photos of the recently renovated compound. The exhibition also includes photos of the recently renovated UNHQ (renovation: 2008-2014).

The exhibition is organized by the Department of Global Communication.
