We talked with former UN Publications intern Zora Stanik, who told us that behind the publication lies a rigorous process of research, review, and verification. Experts were consulted extensively, and photos were carefully sourced from the UN’s archives.
“Misinformation leads to a lack of accountability,” Ms. Stanik noted. The second edition of The Essential UN draws directly from the UN’s own archives and expertise, making it a true primary source of knowledge.
Unlike AI summaries or short-form content, which younger audiences are more accustomed to, the book provides authentic, verified information that can’t be found elsewhere, reinforcing trust in the UN’s voice and mission.
