Achieving an Equal Future in a Covid-19 World: Choose to Challenge
for Change - Celebrating Women and Girls in Tech Collectively
Background
After the GIRL TECH TALK Conference's launch in October 2019, it was decided the event would be annual and be held in October to celebrate the International Day of The Girl Child. However, due to COVID-19, which forced school closures. The 2020 annual conference could not proceed. Therefore, to close the anticipation that was not met in 2020, in March 2021, four women-led organizations (from Lesotho, Kenya, Botswana, and Ghana) teamed up to participate in the pre-conference and have a conversation around a theme: "Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID19 World: Choose to Challenge."
