Akmaral Arystanbekova is Ambassador at Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She served as the first Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations from 1992 to 1999 and as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan from 1989 to 1991. She is a Doctor of Historical Science, Professor, author of two monographs and many publications about the United Nations.
