Since his appointment by Secretary-General António Guterres in July 2022, Mr. Li has led UN DESA in its goal of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and supporting countries through intergovernmental support, expert analysis and capacity-building.
Mr. Li is also steering the Department’s efforts in supporting and coordinating some of the upcoming milestone moments in June and beyond, including the third UN Ocean Conference (UNOC3), the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and the fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4).
