Michel Kazatchkine is the Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Since 1984, he has been a professor of immunology at Université René Descartes. In 1990, he became Head of the Immunology Unit of the Georges Pompidou Hospital in Paris. Dr. Kazatchkine has spent the past 25 years fighting AIDS and also served as Director of the National Agency for Research on AIDS in France and as French Ambassador on HIV/AIDS and communicable diseases.
