Saye Ndim serves as a corrections officer with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

Her work is pivotal in promoting the social reintegration of detainees in rural areas. Through technical support, training, and operational guidance, she empowers national prison officers, both women and men, to uphold international human rights standards and adopt rehabilitative approaches to incarceration.

Ms. Ndim leads predominantly women-only multidisciplinary teams that deliver expert assistance to remote prisons.

She has introduced environmental and vocational training programs that transform prison yards into productive gardens, teaching detainees sustainable farming techniques that improve food security and offer valuable life skills.

Notable successes include a group of female detainees who now produce prison uniforms through tailoring workshops, and juvenile detainees who, after training in motorcycle mechanics, have secured apprenticeships upon release.

Through on-site training in all functional prisons across the country, Ms. Ndim has institutionalized best practices, elevated professional standards among prison staff and laid the foundation for long-term rehabilitation efforts.

Her work not only improves prison conditions but also strengthens the connection between correctional institutions and the communities they serve.

Saye Ndim’s leadership exemplifies how strategic interventions can bring meaningful change to even the most remote prisons —ensuring that rehabilitation and reintegration remain central to corrections intervention of peace operations, contributing to the reduction of cycles of violence, promoting reconciliation, and contributing to peace and security in the Central African Republic.
