Aniket Ghai is a Senior Economic Affairs Officer at the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States. Prior to that he worked in UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s Executive Office, and before that was Policy Advisor to the Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme. He designed and rolled out the UN’s climate neutral strategy. He was part of the secretariats of the Rio Earth Summit (UNCED) and the UNFCCC. He has advised international organizations, governments and NGOs on trade, sustainable development and climate change. He was educated at Oxford University, UK, and Columbia University, New York, USA.
Mr. Abdul Alim is the head of the Least Developed Countries (LDC) sub-programme at the UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (OHRLLS). Prior to joining the UN, he served at the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the UN in New York, where he handled economic and financial matters, and worked at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Moscow. Alim also gained experience in the multilateral economic affairs wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh. He holds a master's degree in Economics from Dhaka University and an MSc in International Economics from the University of Birmingham.
