The Division of Administration in the Department of Operational Support wishes to inform delegates and staff that the Secretariat Building, South Annex Building, and Dag Hammarskjold Library will be closed to non-essential personnel on Friday, 6 June 2025, for electrical maintenance. During this testing, regular lighting, power to workstations, vertical transportation systems, and some HVAC and plumbing systems will be out of service or running at reduced or limited capacities.
The affected areas will be operating on emergency power during the shutdown, including life safety systems, emergency lighting, and telecommunications equipment. The Conference Building, General Assembly Building, North Lawn Building, and North Screening Building will not be affected. All maintenance work is expected to be completed by 5 PM.
All UN staff whose presence is not required in these buildings on Friday, 6 June (Eid al-Adha) are requested to plan to work from home or another location. Remote office capabilities will be unaffected.
