May is Bike Month! Last year, more than 100 UN personnel and delegates joined forces and collectively logged nearly 13,000 miles, allowing the UN to rank first among all organizations participating in the NYC Bike Month Challenge!

This year, the United Nations Staff Union (New York) Micromobility Advocacy Group and the UNSRC Bike Club are partnering with the Permanent Missions to the United Nations of Germany, Latvia, Romania and Singapore,  as well as DMSPC’s Sustainability and Resilience Management Section, and DSS and its Road Safety team, to invite you to join the challenge and surpass last year’s accomplishment!

Our goal is to pedal 17,000 miles, the distance from the UNHQ in New York to the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok and back.

How to participate?

  1. Encourage your colleagues to participate and to form a team!

  2. Track your trips and miles whenever riding a bike or a micromobility device throughout the month of May.

  3. Record your trips and mileage using this form: https://forms.office.com/e/9N2SDvhDDa.

  4. Strive to log the most miles and rides. The team with the highest number of trips, and the team with the highest mileage, will be named the winners of the 2024 challenge!
