Earthquake Safety Drill 29 April 2026 | 10:00 – 11:00 AM | UN Headquarters, New York
In observance of the inaugural International Day for the Memory of the Victims of Earthquakes, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) together with United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) will host a live earthquake safety drill at UN Headquarters on 29 April 2026.
The drill will demonstrate earthquake preparedness protocols and give participants a practical understanding of how to respond safely in the event of a seismic emergency.
The highlight of the session will be an immersive virtual reality earthquake simulation, developed and provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which will place participants directly inside an earthquake scenario — making this a truly unique and unmissable experience.
Please note that space is limited. The drill will take place in a small room and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is strongly encouraged.
To attend, please register via the link below and make sure to select the Drill section when completing your RSVP form.
