Since 2011, the Secretary-General has held an Annual Memorial Service to honour colleagues from UN Secretariat entities, as well as UNRWA, IOM, funds, and programmes, who have lost their lives in the line of duty in the previous year.
This year’s Annual Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, 6 June 2024 for United Nations personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2023.
This event will offer a solemn opportunity to remember our fallen colleagues and reflect upon their legacies.
The Memorial Service will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber of the Secretariat. A live broadcast will be available via UN Web TV for those who cannot attend in person.
