The Journal of the United Nations, a gateway to all meeting-related information, has a dedicated section that takes you to the multilingual United Nations Calendar of Conferences and Meetings website.

Launched in the six official languages last September, the website is in line with the General Assembly’s call for all United Nations websites to better achieve language parity.

In coordination with other duty stations, the calendar is updated monthly to include meetings and conferences reviewed by the Committee on Conferences and approved by the General Assembly.

The calendar contains details of conferences and meetings that have legislative mandates and budgetary provisions.

It also includes conferences and meetings:

  • of the principal organs of the specialized agencies

  • of the International Atomic Energy Agency

  • of the Conference of Parties for the United Nations Framework on Climate Change

  • of the treaty bodies established under the auspices of the United Nations

Search the calendar by date, venue, organ, or year in any of the six languages.

It is an invaluable resource for Member States, technical and substantive secretariats of intergovernmental meeting bodies, United Nations staff, and the general public.

The website project team consisted of a multilingual, cross-cutting group from the Meetings Management Section and the Business Analysis Section of the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management and the Office of Information and Communications Technology in New York, as well as business focal points from Geneva, Vienna, and Nairobi.
